After the Alice Through the Looking Glass mini series it's finally time for some long overdue fall nail art. It's almost winter and I haven't done a single fall design yet! Since it's been raining non-stop here for the past week(s) I wanted to do something to make the rain fun and less gloomy.
I was inspired by a gorgeous painting I found on Pinterest. I did some digging and found out is was by Marc Allante. He makes stunning paintings merging Chinese ink with European watercolor and pen techniques. Definitely check out his website or Instagram if you have the time!
The base is two coats of "Blanc" by Essie. It's not completely opaque with only two coats, but since it will be almost completely covered by the rain it doesn't matter that much. Even if you have a little bump or the base is not completely smooth, don't worry! You won't be able to see it after you add the design. In the tutorial you can see that I screwed up the white base a bit on my nail with the couple, but it's not visible at all in the picture below!
For the couple design I used the "Tartofraises roubloff detail 00" brush by Adnails Manucure and for the rain the "Edinburgh Realism 4" brush by StylishNailArtShop. Both are painted with Jo Sonja's acrylic paint, but for the rain I diluted the paint with twice as much water as paint.
